Pen Point's Poetry
Hoe-Down at Mudlick Holler

Paw was a blowin' in his moonshine jug
And Maw played her grandma's fiddle
Cousin Everett strummed on Maw's washboard
While I drummed out a simple diddle
Luther twanged his old banjo
Though some fangers he was missin'
And Bubba picked the box so loud
It made yore head a ringin'

We had some other good ol' boys
Visitin' from Rattlesnake Junction
And they all joined right on in
Tootin, and blowin', and thumpin'

Dang, we had the best ol' time
Singin' all them country songs
But we got right-dead serious
With Maw's Gospel sing-a-long
We played and sang 'til nearly dawn
And got plum tuckered out
But yanno, I loved it so
Mudlick Holler is what it's about
