The Quagmire of Love

When I first met you,
I feared liking you....

When I first began liking you,
I feared loving you....

When I first began loving you
I feared falling in love with you....

When I first fell in love with you
I feared falling hopelessly in love with you....

Now that I'm hopelessly in love with you,
I fear losing you....

Love's quagmire causes us to doubt
The very veracity of love itself
The very foundation that love rests upon
Supporting it securely much like a shelf

Keeping love intact from all predators
Like gossips, liars, and disrespect
Who accuse and belittle, but they will fail
Because love was designed by the Best Architect

So even though I may sometimes falter
One thing you may always be sure
I will love you until the end of all time
For me there is no cure
