I awoke in the middle of the night
With you nestled sweetly in my arms;
You were holding me so tightly,
Safe from all cares and all alarm.

I kissed you gently on your forehead,
And you purred a soft 'I love you.'
As I whispered of my devoted love,
Back to dreamland you did go.

Your body felt so wondrous
Resting safely within my arms.
Baby, you are just so stunning;
My love is captured by your charms.

The raptured look on your sweet face
Told of an evening of love unexcelled;
Explosive lovemaking which affirmed
Our marvelous love would forever gell.

For I really do love you so much
That my heart is about to burst,
