A rose is just so beautiful
with a fragrance twice as true,
but when the season ends,
the flower has no bloom.
Joyously we know
there will be another season soon.
That rose will live again,
and beautify our simple room.
Nothing lasts forever
when time and dust are air.
I had a dream that you had gone,
but the rose -- it was still there.
Who said I would ever leave you
in despair and all alone?
I'd rather love and cherish you,
and turn a house into a home.
Your ways are so enticing;
your words can fill my heart.
Promise me
as long as you live,
that we will never part.
How could I ever leave you
with your smile oh so bright,
when I know that your sweet love
will always be so right?
Who am I to you?
What does this all mean?
Will I awake tomorrow,
and find it all a dream?
You will awaken every morning
snuggled safely in my arms,
and you will find our dream is real,
protected safely from all harm.
A rose can do all this?
Then reason can do more!
Love is no longer just a word;
I know now what it's for!
