Eyes so deep and probing
As they look lovingly at me
So very soft and delicate
Yet with knowledge set so deep

Your eyes have seen the world
With its sorrows and its pain
Yet choose to trust and love me
Risk it all yet once again

Risk being hurt and the tearing pain
Risk your dreams being torn to shreds
Your life cast into a million fragments
Feeling like you'd rather be dead

You risk it all for your love of me
I feel so undeserving
Of a love so strong that you have for me
A love that is self-sacrificing

I know I could never deserve your love
I could never measure up to its hew
All I can ever offer in return
Is my ever undying love for you
