What Can I Give You This Valentine's Day?
Fire-red roses and chocolates,
white buttercups too,
how can I show my flaming love,
which burns inside me for you?
I could give you candies and flowers,
and many things that are nice,
but they won't cuddle and hold you
through a cold winter's night.
They won't whisper sweet love-things
into your elegant ears,
and be with you, Sweet-Baby,
to calm any fears.
They won't passionately kiss you
on your soft, precious lips,
or gaze into your eyes,
or caress your fingertips.
What can I give you this Valentine's Day?
Just my devoted, loving heart,
unbarred and unfettered.
For an eternity of ages,
it is yours.
