The best fighting force known to man;
The best in all the lands;
So few men ever make the grade
And proudly wear that Green Beret.
Sent on missions of life and death;
They risk it all to keep America best;
Whether deep in the jungles or far underwater;
Or HALO* jumping with a wrist-altimeter.
The Green Berets take down America's foes.
'Take out the garbage!' scream these commandos
As they suddenly spring from their hidden locations
Secluded deeply within the enemy's position.
Once again a successful mission
Freeing kidnapped American children;
Or taking out terrorists who try to destroy
The life of freedom that we all enjoy.
They put their lives on the line most every day,
While the rest of us are at work or at play.
There's only one thing that I can say:
I ask our Lord to bless Our Green Berets!
